500+and+Fiat+Yamaha+Team+together+at+Laguna+Seca - July 2010


On the occasion of the MotoGp weekend at Laguna Seca, California, Fiat Automobiles and the Fiat Yamaha Team are presenting the new 2010 stars and stripes colours for the Gp.
The special graphics welcomes the 500’s forthcoming entry to the U.S. market, and “the first car created for the people by the people” couldn’t help but engross fans backing the Fiat Yamaha Team and its riders at this preview.

To celebrate the 500's upcoming debut in the United States, the original 500 Thousandth initiative is being reproposed in the “two-wheel” version – www.500millesima.fiat500.com– an operation dedicated to the 500,000th specimen produced in just 31 months since it went onto the market. To mark this record, a special showcar, the 500 Thousandth, was created. It was completely covered with 1,500 pictures depicting the faces of owners and fans spread throughout the world that in various ways have contributed to its outstanding success.

With the same dynamics and thanks to the collaboration of the Fiat Yamaha Team, fans of Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo all over the world, together with the 500's fans, showed their support for the two riders in June by sending in their pictures to the dedicated site m1lagunaseca.fiatyamaha team.fiat.it.
Participation was extraordinary! In just 15 minutes the 500 places available on Valentino Rossi's motorbike were taken up and just a short time later those on the bike ridden by the Spanish rider – who is personally extremely active on social networking sites – were filled up. All of these photographs were then reworked by the famous designer Aldo Drudi to create the original colours. The 500 logo on both the motorcycles of both riders in a special “glittery” stars and stripes version and on their suits and official clothing of the entire team is also highly visible.

These initiatives confirm the intention of the Fiat Yamaha Team and of Fiat Automobiles to communicate with fans and customers – especially the youngest ones – also through projects tied to the world of creativity, design and the web.
And following the same path, Fiat North America has decided to offer U.S. supporters of the brand the chance to book, in an exclusive online preview, the “Fiat 500 First Edition”. On the site www.ciaofiat.com, Fiat's American customers will be able to book the 500 specimens of the limited edition, and personally choose the serial numbers that will identify their new cars.
Embellished with the numbered “First Edition” number plate, this special series will be available exclusively in three colours – white, red and grey – and will be equipped with the four-cylinder 1.4 MultiAir™ with manual gearbox.
